This tiny prestige stool exhibits an unusual sculptural form, in which a volumetric diamond-shape connects the circular seat and base. The centre of the seat features an etched rectangle, patterned with cross-hatchings and surrounded by star-like shapes.
It is thought that these unusual designs served a purpose - possibly acting as a compass to position or point the stool during prayer or ceremonial use.
