This pair of wooden panels are beautifully decorated with symbolic and abstract animal motifs featuring a large lizard and snake that also acted as traditional protection symbols. A series of parallel lines adorn the cross sections of both panels. Elaborately decorated panels/doors such as this would have adorned a Nupe meeting house or important family compound.
