1940's Caryatid Stool. Bamileke Culture, Cameroon.

The stool features a male figure in an upright powerful stance with both arms raised supporting the flat seat. Carved in the typical style of the Cameroon Grasslands (north-west Cameroon)

All over glossy surface with scorched darkened areas.

Estimated Period: 1940's

Diameter: 26cm

Condition: Good with restoration to a crack on the seat, as shown in the photographs.
