Created from coiled woven structures, these Congolese baskets exhibit three distinct sculptural forms. The coarsely-woven coiled structure of the largest basket differentiates it from the other two, more finely-woven baskets. Each basket displays creative three-toned patterns, made from the interplay of fibres against the coiled foundational structure, with dark and mid-tone colours contrasting against the natural pale gold colour of the fibre.
