This large, elongated Lozi wooden bowl is surmounted by a finely carved crocodile. The bowl consists of two pieces, with the lip fitting tightly to the base. Such bowls were traditionally used to serve food.
The animals depicted on bowls made by the Lozi people were species that could be found inhabiting the shores of the Zambezi River in Zambia.
