This elders stool from the 1930's has its seat decorated with twisted copper strands of wire with a central spiral design surrounded by a series of semi-circular patterns.
This feature of decorating the top of the seat with intricate wirework patterns was a practice the Kamba were renowned for in the early part of last century.
