Featuring a heart-shaped motif at its centre, the lid of this traditional Lozi food bowl is surmounted with the representation of a fish with white beaded eyes. The bowl has been finely carved into two constituent parts, where the bottom and top parts of the bowl meet tightly together. The lid features a beautiful heart shaped design at its centre below the fish.
The bowl is accompanied by a label, describing the bowl as follows: 'Mukeke Food Bowl, Western Zambia, Collected 1963, Geo Fowler Collection'.
