This prestige staff is surmounted by a carved female head with a braided hairstyle. The female head exhibits finely carved facial features, and bears a pleasing expression with a pair of white beaded eyes. The head would have rested on the owner’s shoulders when the staff was carried. The surface of the staff has developed a lovely deep, glossy patina.
