This fine prestige blade would have been an emblem of social position among the Konda culture of the DRC. The blade’s flared form appears to resemble an abstracted human figure. The iron blade has been adorned with intricate, repeated floral-like designs on both sides. Over time, the surface of the handle has developed a deep, worn patina.
