Finely carved in two sections with the upper section tightly fitting the body of the container. Both sections have been decorated with bands of fine zig-zag and circular decorations and are held together with a twisted fibre rope. The upper section to the container is surmounted with a well patinated finely carved female head with a parted sweeping coiffeur, a hair style represented in many Kwere artefacts.
The container was used to store traditional medicines, likely dried roots and other plant materials used by the traditional healer.
