This female maternity figure is depicted sitting on a three-legged stool with finely carved decorations adorning its outer perimeter. With her head crowned by a sweeping coiffure, the figure sits in an upright stance with her hands resting delicately on her navel in a gesture of fertility. Over time, the surface of the piece has developed a lovely deep, worn, dark and smooth patina.
