This early Ibeji figure, with its pair of inserted metal eyes, features typical Yoruba facial scarification markings. Traces of Reckitt’s Blue are present in the lower part of the figure’s carved coiffure, and the base of the Ibeji has developed an encrusted, layered surface patina.
