Consisting of a curved saddle supported by three legs, this piece would have been used more often as a stool, but also sometimes as a headrest. Stools in zoomorphic, animal-like shapes such as this are used by both the Lobi and Gurunsi in Burkina Faso.
The stool is in good condition with no restorations or repairs, and has developed a smooth surface patina as a result of use.
