The larger of the containers has a beautifully carved stopper depicting a female figure with her arms raised and holding the underside of her breasts. Her head, with glass beaded eyes, has been subtly carved with am upward gaze and the overall patina is dark, shinny and worn.
The slightly smaller of the two gourd containers has an unusual 'Mwana Hiti' styled stopper carved on top of two abstract styled legs. The surface is worn and smooth from handling. Bands of zig-zag decorations appear at the top of the shaft of the stopper and below the navel of the figure. Strands of early glass beads decorate the body of the gourd and a single strand appears around the neck of the Hiti figure.
The carved stopper (shown as mounted) depicts a female figure sitting with her knees together on a small stool. Her arms are raised holding her breasts and she has a fine sweeping pronounced hair style.
