Supporting the seat of this small Nupe stool are four cone-shaped legs, connected on each side by two downward-facing, V-shaped structures. The flat-topped seat of the stool has been beautifully decorated with an arrangement of engraved geometric designs, in which a single diamond form is surrounded by striational pyramids - which, in turn, are framed by borders of lines and half lozenge-shapes. Throughout, the surface of the stool exhibits a lovely smooth, rich patina.
