A medium to large high backed chair coming from the Jinka region of Southern Ethiopia. Carved from one block of a heavy dark wood dating to the second half of the nineteenth-century. The chair in good condition has a dark worn and shiny patina with four supporting legs which is more unusual with high backed chairs from this region.
