This large double bowl from Zambia traditionally had a dual purpose: to serve and store food. Two finely carved ducks decorate the lid of the bowl. The bowl’s base is impressively carved from a single piece of wood.
Animals depicted on bowls made by the Lozi people of Zambia were species that could be found inhabiting the shores of the Zambezi River.
