Fashioned by the time consuming process of soaking, bending and shaping a piece of flattened wood into this beautiful yet totally functional item for every-day use.
Held into shape by a piece of leather strapping that also acts as the handle the headrest is relatively large in size with wide splayed legs and a slightly curved neck support. Headrests from this region made in this technique were commonly used up to around the 1960's. There after this form of headrest was sculptured from a piece of wood, a far easier and less time consuming process.
