Iron shrine piece depicting a male at the front holding a staff with the female, likely his wife, directly behind him with her arms raised in a gesture of support. Dogon culture, Mali. Fine detailing on each figure with the hair extensions of the female finely twisted and with small iron decorations attached. The male, wearing a tiny twisted arm adornment, has a flattened head extension, with the same small iron dangling decorations. The surface is eroded and slightly encrusted.
