Either end of this Gurage headrest hangs beaded tassels with cowrie shells attached to each. Old buttons of white and blue anchor the beaded strands to the top of curved support. The patina is dark and glossy all over. The cone shaped underside is sometimes used as a cup to hold butter fat that is applied to the owners hair.
