This headrest displays a distinctive animal-like form, with two splayed feet and a slightly curved, strikingly phallic-shaped leading handle. Located between the two supports is a horizontal handle, which when held, would have transformed the headrest into a small hand shield. Carved from a brown semi-hard wood, the surface of the headrest exhibits a smooth golden patina.
