FORM AND FUNCTION. THE BEAUTY OF TRADITIONAL AFRICAN CONTAINERS AND UTENSILS

A Beautiful Group of African Utensils and Containers

All these pieces can be found sold separately on the website, check under TRIBAL FORMS. Some pieces date to the 1920's - 1930's, in the case of the Tutsi baskets and the large container with zig zag woven fibre lid (Ex Pierre Dartevelle, Brussels). The other wooden containers and the wonderful large meat platter are Zulu and would date to around the 1950's. The beautifully formed spoons are Zulu, the one with the parted handle is a rare Punu spoon. These pieces each have a lovely worn patina and great form.

Some pieces were personally field collected over the years, others come from private collections in UK and Europe.
