A very finely cast Akan gold weight depicting a fully armed warrior. Despite its diminutive size, the quality of the casting is exceptional, with remarkable attention paid to every detail.
The warrior stands upright holding an early musket. Around his waist is a finely rendered ammunition belt with individual compartments, together with a powder flask fashioned from a horn-shaped container, all executed with outstanding precision. The level of craftsmanship achieved on such a small scale is a testament to the skill of the Akan bronze casters.
