The body of this fine Chokwe pipe depicts an early colonial rifle, which has been beautifully decorated with rows of zig-zag patterns. Surmounting the head of the pipe is a standing figure, crowned with an elaborate coiffure. This pipe was likely used as a prestige staff; a symbol of importance.
