This fine Dogon equestrian figurative ring depicts the rider seated in an upright position, with a elongated and exaggerated body in relation to size of the animal he rides. The rider is shown resting a title staff on his shoulder and the body of the circular ring displays fine cross-hatched decorations. Over time the surface has developed a beautifully deep, encrusted verdigris surface patina.
