Carved from one piece of wood, this figure of a female bust is shown positioned on top of a three legged stool. This unusual yet wonderfully sculptured piece that was traditional used as a fertility fetish, shows the female bust with large prominent breasts, an exaggerated coiffure and fine facial features. As a symbol of importance commonly found in sculpture from this region, the figure has been carved positioned on top of a small stool. Attached to the neck and waist are strands of beads with fetish bundles. The surface is layered and encrusted in parts from traditional use.
