A very special Ethiopian high-backed throne with truly wonderful form, coming from the Jimma Oromo Region of south western Ethiopia. The 'Throne' features rare characteristics, with its wing shaped sides, cut-out circular shaped back support, curved legs and crescent shaped head support. The surface of the seat has a rippled and deeply worn patina. The chair was once painted, traces of a light green paint can be seen on its back, most of the paint on the rest of its surface has now been worn off.
