This extremely rare bronze arm adornment (ingxotha), featuring a series of fine raised ridges, was previously part of the collection of the photographer Werner Forman (1921-2010). Gauntlets such as this were highly prized in the Zulu kingdom, being reserved only for important dignitaries and seasoned warriors.
