ETHIOPIAN STOOL FORMED FROM A TREE BRANCH

Stool Formed From a Tree Branch. Jinka Region, Ethiopia

This early village stool, carved following the natural formation of a tree branch, has a wonderful animal-like appearance. Three splayed legs support the seat of the stool, and throughout, the surface of the piece exhibits a deep, glossy, golden-coloured patina.
