It is rare to find a type of Boni headrest such as this, which exhibits a lovely rippled surface along its curved neck support. Boni headrests do not generally exhibit a lot of wear, or show a deep worn patina like this example.
The mushroom-shaped base is rounded and well-worn at its edges where the headrest would have been tilted to one side when used. The upright stem exhibits fine vertical rows of triangular decorations.
