Fine Dogon mask, surmounted by a monkey that sits with his knees bent and what appears to be a nut in his paws. Below, the mask displays the architectonic qualities typical of Dogon masks – with a pair of large, rectangular eyes and abstracted, stylised zoomorphic features. Throughout, this mask exhibits a dry, crusty surface patina with traces of paint in parts now mostly worn away.
