Worn or kept as a protective charm, likely Kulango, northern Ivory Coast. Pieces such as this, incorporating three figures in an abstract style is typical of Kulango style. A similar published example, can be found in Karl-Ferdinand Schaedler's 1997 publication, Earth and Ore: 2500 Years of African Art in Terra-Cotta and Metal.
