The central cuff and front of this rare nineteenth-century Igbo leg adornment (ogba) is decorated with a rich array of finely engraved designs, consisting of circles, dots, lines and triangular shapes. Made from copper alloy, the impressive size of this large ogba was indicative of the wearer’s high-ranking position in society.
